Debra's Story

"When I first got to N Street Village, I didn’t know how my life was going to be or what I was going to do. Now I’ve done a 180. I know that this time next year, I’m going to have my own apartment and a job. The staff says that they can see the difference in me — and now I can see it in myself.”

How Does N Street Village Help?

In 2010 N Street Village provided services to nearly 900 women. Over 50,000 meals were served in our day center. Safe shelter or on-site housing was provided to 172 women.

N Street Village announces incorporation of Miriam’s House, ensuring that high-quality housing and supportive services for homeless women living with HIV/AIDS remain available in D.C. as demand for such services increases. Watch a short video announcement from Miriam’s House and N Street Village.

Save the date for the The N Street Village 2012 Gala on March 21st at the Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. The Gala is N Street Village’s largest annual fundraising event, providing an opportunity for us to recognize members of our community — clients, supporters, and leaders — who exemplify the spirit of N Street Village. This year, we are honored to present Senator Amy Klobuchar and Senator Mike Enzi with our Founders Award, which recognizes individuals whose professional and personal efforts have provided new opportunities for individuals living on the margins of society.
