Mindfulness at N Street Village
This episode uncovers what mindfulness is and how it can impact one’s daily life. Our guest for this episode is Sasha Gorelik, first-year medical student at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Sasha works with Hoya Clinic and her main focus is women’s health. Her goal is to provide health services here at N Street Village.
We don’t even realize that our minds can be in so many different places at once, and so mindfulness is really a way to just quiet that so we can be more efficient in what we’re doing and more present, but also more happier and less stressed and feel more fulfilled in what we’re doing.

As a child, Jewel experienced family trauma and abandonment. Life was hard at home and as a teenager, she looked to escape any way she could.
Jewel got married at age 17, left home with her new husband, and had her first child. But her marriage didn’t work out as she hoped. Her husband struggled with drug addiction, and Jewel suffered through years of verbal and physical abuse.Read Full Story
