My Favorite Volunteer Memory: Kristina Randelzhofer

Kristina

My name is Kristina Randelzhofer, and I am a Lutheran Volunteer Corps member placed at N Street Village. Lutheran Volunteer Corps is a one-year service commitment focused on the values of social justice, intentional community, spirituality and sustainability. I am originally from Wisconsin and came to D.C. in August for my year of service. Through my full-time role as the Volunteer and In-Kind Coordinator, I accept, organize and distribute non-monetary donations to our clients and help coordinate volunteers.

One of my favorite memories so far was our annual Shero Walk in the fall. I was so excited to be able to celebrate all our Village Sheros – clients, volunteers, donors and staff, with my housemates. I loved seeing our clients share their talents and joy through dancing and listening to the incredible Ambassadors of Praise’s choir performance. The event was a beautiful example of people coming together from a plethora of experiences and a proud celebration of our community. It truly takes a Village to build a community of dignity and respect, and I am so honored to be part of the N Street Village family.
