Come Back to the Village!

We've Missed You!

Your past generosity allowed us to provide emergency goods to women in need. In November 2022, we were thrilled to reopen Bethany Women’s Day Center, which had been closed due to the pandemic. Since it reopened, the Day Center has served almost 200 women, giving them access to carry and go breakfasts, hot lunches, showers, laundry, and toiletries.

“Sue” came to the day center shortly after it reopened. She was getting a divorce and living at the Patricia Handy emergency shelter. She didn’t need help getting an ID or accessing benefits. All she wanted was somewhere to regroup. She came every week, and after four months told the center staff she was moving into her own apartment. Sue made a point to say thank you to each staff member for giving her a safe place to just be.

“Beth” came to the center after a domestic violence experience shut her down so that she refused to talk. Without judgement, the day center staff communicated with her through notes and gestures, providing the services and referrals she needed. Eventually, she began talking and shared that the staff had made her feel safe enough to open up about her past trauma.

We can’t provide this kind of care without supporters like you.
