This month, get to know N Street Village Volunteer DeJuan Price. DeJuan exemplifies what it means to be a Village SHERO. She serves meals, supports with our fundraisers, and even donated her birthday! She always greets each woman who walks through our doors with a smile. We are truly blessed to have DeJuan as part of our community. Let’s get to know DeJuan…
I’m an accomplished business professional, marketing expert, and creative entrepreneur. I’m a native Washingtonian and an alumna of George Mason University, Georgetown University, and Virginia Tech as well as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and The Junior League of Washington (JLW). I’m also on the Board of The Story of Our Schools and a volunteer with A Wider Circle.
I got involved with N Street Village through volunteer service with The Junior League of Washington. For two years, I worked with a committee to serve dinner to residents. I have continued service at the Village serving breakfast, conducting toiletry drives, and fundraisers. My hobbies and interests include self-development, astrology, spinning, running, crystals, concerts, French Bulldogs, music (from Hip-Hop to 80s NYC House), bath bombs, and spirituality.
Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in the DC area? I’m a Native Washingtonian, D.C. and have lived here off and on for my entire life.
What is your favorite D.C. restaurant? Cubano’s in Silver Spring, Maryland.
On a Saturday evening, you will find me… Dancing to my favorite local DJs sets at various locales.
What is the last movie you watched (and enjoyed)? Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
What is your favorite D.C. landmark? Ben’s Chili Bowl.
Describe N Street Village in 3 words or less: Love, Growth, Community.
What do you enjoy most about volunteering at N Street Village? Volunteering at the Village represents what a mission of service looks like in action — real impact, centered in love, and making a difference in this world. I’ve learned so much about my own life’s journey through this, and it has truly been a gift.
What makes N Street Village unique to you? A focus on whole-person recovery and wellness in mind, body, and spirit — along with a team of leadership, staff, and volunteers who are truly committed and connected through a shared love of humanity.
