Village Update Regarding COVID-19

As we navigate through these unprecedented and cautious times, the health and safety of the N Street Village community — clients, staff, volunteers and supporters — is paramount. We are working closely with our city government partners and leaders to prepare and respond to the rapidly changing climate.

Protecting Our Clients and Staff

Across the Village’s five locations we serve hundreds of women every day and provide housing and shelter for nearly 400 women on any given night. With guidance from the DC Department of Health, the CDC, and the WHO we have taken measures such as:

  • Enhanced cleaning and triage protocols
  • Established an internal COVID-19 Response Team
  • Provide regular communication to staff and clients across all locations.

Program Modifications

  • The Bethany Day Center is open Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:00 am – 12:30 pm

Protecting our Volunteers and Supporters

The Village relies on our incredible volunteers to support the mission and women with meal service, wellness classes and other activities. In an abundance of caution, we are pausing all volunteer activities and Village tours until further notice. If you have specific questions about volunteering, please contact Heidi Gauthier hgauthier@www.nstreetvillage.org

How Can You Help?

Thank you, Village family, for your continued trust and support of nearly 2,000 women we welcome each year. We will continue to keep you updated in the coming weeks. Please reach out to Stuart Allen — sallen@www.nstreetvillage.org — with any questions or concerns.
