The Indre Family has generously shared their time, talent, and treasure with the Village family.
From volunteering at Family and Friends Day, hosting community dinners for Village residents, getting their workplaces involved, to bringing the entire family — grandparents and all — to the SHERO Walk. Read more about why they got involved and what they love about N Street Village!
How did you first hear about N Street Village? Matt learned about N Street Village and all the great work they do in our community through his role as Head of Corporate Philanthropy at Total Wine & More.
Can you describe N Street Village in three words? Dignity. For. Women.
What is something that might surprise someone visiting the Village for the first time? We were surprised to learn about the longevity, scope, and success of N Street Village. It’s truly all so impressive!
Why is it important to have an organization like N Street Village in a city like D.C.? As the city continues to gentrify, more and more of its residents find themselves in precarious economic situations. The Village provides a crucial net for so many women experiencing homelessness and raising awareness in the community.
How do you feel like your involvement is making an impact at the Village? N Street Village does an excellent job at making everyone – volunteers and clients alike – feel welcome and valued. We love being a part of the community and often feel we get more than we receive when we are able to volunteer or make a donation. Our involvement with N Street Village has had a much bigger impact on us than we could ever give back.
