Flagship Permanent Supportive Housing Program

The Flagship Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Program under N Street Village provides housing and supportive services to 42 women and transgender individuals, 18 and up. This is a sober-living community—we welcome residents who are in recovery and/or practicing abstinence from any substances.

Residents have their own rooms in a fully furnished, shared apartment with free laundry facilities on-site. There are four to five rooms in each apartment, and residents share common spaces, including the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Residents are responsible for setting up their own entertainment services, such as cable and Wi-Fi.

Case Management services are offered on-site, and residents are strongly encouraged to meet with their assigned case manager at least twice per month. Case Managers support residents with goals related to improving overall health and wellbeing, budgeting assistance/financial management, educational/vocational opportunities, employment search assistance, and longer-term housing planning should a resident seek to obtain more independent housing.

Most units are subsidized by the Local Rent Subsidy Program (LRSP), which requires residents to complete an application that is processed by the D.C. Housing Authority. Rent is 30% of residents’ income; however, income is not necessary for housing. The Community Partnership subsidizes a small portion of the units as part of its Shelter Plus Care Program.

A majority of our program referrals come through the Coordinated Assessment and Housing Placement (CAHP or coordinated entry) process. Those interested in Flagship PSH must be eligible for Permanent Supportive Housing based on the outcome of their VI-SPDAT/SPDAT assessments.

To complete the housing application, you will need to apply in person with a valid government issued photo ID, birth certificate, social security card, proof of income (if applicable), and a bank statement showing the previous six months (if applicable).
