  • How You Helped Shirley

    Before coming to N Street Village, Shirley was struggling with addiction. She had no job and no income and was barely getting by.  At the Village, she enrolled in our Recovery Housing program. By participating in regular community meetings and group activities at the Village, Shirley received the support and resources she needed to overcome her addiction and make positive changes in her life.

  • N Street Village Rallies to Win Cash Award on November 9th

    On November 9th N Street Village will be competing in Give to the Max Day: Greater Washington (www.give2max.org), a massive one-day regional online fundraiser to support local programs. More than a thousand nonprofits that serve the greater Washington region will ask donors to display their generosity in a region-wide competition to raise as much money as possible, and gain as many supporters as possible, in order to win hundreds of thousands of dollars in awards for N Street Village.

  • Mini-Walk Led by N Street Village a Great Success

    On Friday, October 22, 2011, more 1,095 walkers from five  Dorothy I. Height Community Academy Public Charter Schools (CAPCS) campuses joined together to participate in one of seven Help the Homeless Mini‐Walks hosted by N Street Village based in NW Washington, DC. The CAPCS campuses that participated were Amos 1, Amos 2, Amos 3, Butler and Rand.

    Our community is grateful to Kara for her support of N Street Village.  Kara had a noticeable impact in our community through her devout service. She led two very popular classes -- "Mystery Solvers" and an art class --assisted the in-kind donation office, served meals, and helped sponsor our inaugural art show last April. Kara's family will be in our thoughts. We enjoyed getting to know Kara and we will miss her.

The 1992 15-passenger van used by the N Street Village community was plagued with problems, leaving clients and staff stranded and the in-kind office unable to pick up donations when the van refused to start.
