“N Street Village, a social service agency in Northwest Washington that celebrates and empowers homeless and low-income women, raised more than $1.5 million Tuesday night during its star-studded annual gala at the Marriott Marquis ballroom.
“We are here tonight to celebrate many milestones reached and countless obstacles overcome,” N Street Village Executive Director Schroeder Stribling told a sold-out crowd. “We celebrate the opening this year of Pat Handy Place and the Phyllis Wheatley YWCA, which combine to make five locations of our Village providing safe and dignified housing for 500 individuals, and support services for 2,000 each year.” –
