Here at the Village, we know that our work will not be done until every woman has a safe and dignified place to call home. As we approach our October 17 SHERO Virtual Walk and take a step together towards a more equitable DC, we are excited to share the opening of our sixth housing location – Diane’s House!
Offering 42 units of permanent supportive housing, including 6 units for families, Diane’s House expands our Village services to four of DC’s eight wards. Working in concert with our community partners, this new location brings us closer to ending homelessness in the nation’s capital.
Please join us in welcoming our newest Village SHERO – Pastor Diane Crawford, founder of Diane’s House. In the 1990s, Pastor Diane saw a need within her community and opened the doors of her own home to offer housing, classes, and vocational training under Diane’s House Ministries. Today, we honor her as a Village SHERO and celebrate the new partnership between Diane’s House, N Street Village, and the many other stakeholders who have made this possible.
