We are excited to embark on a new collaboration with Miriam’s House to enhance our services around HIV and AIDS. Like N Street Village, Miriam’s House is committed to providing a residential community of recovery for women. Since the mid-1990s they’ve been serving women who are HIV-positive or have AIDS. With the support of a grant from Kaiser Permanente, we’ll be conducting interviews and focus groups with clients, service providers, and funders in the Washington, D.C. community to understand how to reduce the stigma about HIV and AIDS in our communities. We’ll also be identifying gaps in service delivery and evaluate whether Miriam’s House and N Street Village have a role to play in filling any of those gaps. We anticipate presenting the results of our project in January, 2012, to clients, staff and community members.
