Since 2007, N Street Village has hosted our Annual Empowerment Luncheon to raise awareness related to women and poverty, homelessness, and health. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are moving the Luncheon to the Fall 2020. Please check back here or follow us on social media for additional updates.

We look forward to gathering together again as a Village to celebrate the collective impact of community and honor the work of José Andrés, who continues to inspire us with his immediate response to providing warm meals to communities around the world.

2020 Leadership Award: José Andrés

This year, N Street Village is proud to award José Andrés with the N Street Village Leadership Award. Twice named to Time’s “100 Most Influential People” list and awarded the 2015 National Humanities Medal by President Obama, José Andrés is an internationally-recognized culinary innovator, New York Times best-selling author, educator, humanitarian, and chef and owner of ThinkFoodGroup.

In 2010, Andrés formed World Central Kitchen, a non-profit that provides smart solutions to end hunger and poverty by using the power of food to empower communities and strengthen economies. His team has since delivered more than 14 million meals in the wake of climate disasters worldwide.
