As the year winds down, I would like to share with you Shirley’s inspiring story.
Before coming to N Street Village, Shirley was struggling with addiction. She had no job and no income and was barely getting by.
At the Village, she enrolled in our Recovery Housing program. By participating in regular community meetings and group activities at the Village, Shirley received the support and resources she needed to overcome her addiction and make positive changes in her life.
Shirley completed our recovery program this past June. She is now living with her family and working as a home health aide.
In these difficult economic times, there are so many women still in need—women who need a hot meal, a safe place to sleep, medical care…and hope. These women are counting on caring people like you.
Your gift to N Street Village will ensure that every woman who walks through our doors in 2012 is offered care and compassion.
P.S. Make your gift today—the Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation will match up to $15,000 for contributions received during this holiday season.
