Terms of Application for Employment

Arbitration

 I hereby agree that any controversy arising out of or in connection with consideration of my application, compensation, employment, or termination of employment, including claims under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, shall be submitted to arbitration before the American Arbitration Association (AAA), and shall be resolved in accordance with the AAA’s employment arbitration rules then in effect. Judgment upon any award rendered by the arbitrators may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof and shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. §1.

 Authorization

I authorize the N Street Village (“NSV”) to investigate my background, including any and all references, available criminal and other judicial records, and my credit record, where applicable to the position for which I am applying and consistent with applicable law.  I further authorize NSV to use all legal means at its disposal to assess my suitability for employment.  I make this authorization in return for NSV’s consideration of me for employment, and I specifically release and hold NSV harmless for any and all liabilities arising out of their investigation of my application for employment.

Accuracy of Statements

I acknowledge that the information I have supplied is correct to the best of my knowledge and understand that any deliberate falsifications, misrepresentations, or omissions of fact may be grounds for rejection of my application or dismissal from employment if hired.

Not an Employment Agreement

I understand that nothing in this application is intended to imply or create an employment relationship or contract for employment.

I further understand that, if hired, my employment is at-will and can be terminated at any time, with or without notice, for any reason. I also understand that while personnel policies, programs, and procedures may of necessity change from time to time, such at-will status is not subject to change absent a written agreement signed by the company’s president or a designated authorized representative.

I also understand that if I am offered and accept a position with NSV, I may be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and/or an agreement transferring my rights in work products to NSV.
