What is the price of a journey out of homelessness? Last year, it cost approximately $2,000 to accompany a woman on this journey. N Street Village is supported by individuals, religious organizations, foundations, corporations and special events. Only five percent of our annual operating budget of $1.6 million is received from public funds. All gifts are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Individual Gifts
Thank you for generously supporting N Street Village's work to serve the homeless women of DC. There are several ways to donate:
- Making a gift using a credit card: You may make a gift securely by credit card through Network for Good If you would like to donate using a credit card over the phone, please call the Director of Development and Communications at 202-939-2071. You can also use the Contribution Form to mail in a credit card donation.
- To make a gift by check: Please print out and mail the Contribution Form and a check payable to N Street Village to:

- Memorials or Honoraries: Celebrate the life of a loved one who has passed by making a memorial donation that will provide life giving services to the women N Street Village serves every day. Also consider celebrating occasions like Mother's Day, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings in a special way by making a contribution to N Street Village. We will gladly notify the individual(s) you are honoring or their family of your gift.
- Payroll Deduction: Designate a pre-tax payroll deduction to N Street Village during the United Way or Combined Federal Campaigns. N Street Village's designation number is 8281.
- Matching Gifts: Many companies will match an employee's gift to a charitable organization. Contact your Human Resources Department to find out your company's Matching Gift policies and maximize your gift to N Street Village.
Planned Giving
While outright gifts are always needed and gratefully accepted, Planned Giving ensures the continuation of the quality of services, for which N Street Village is recognized, for years to come.
- Donate Stocks: Consider donating appreciated stocks to N Street Village. Donating stocks that have increased in value can offer significant tax savings. Please contact the Director of Development and Communications at 202-939-2071 for more information.
- Will or Bequest: If you are considering N Street Village as a beneficiary for your will, please contact the Director of Development and Communications at 202-939-2071. We will provide any support you need in planning your gift. We would also like to give you the opportunity to share with us your wishes for how the gift should be used.
- Lutheran Planned Giving Consortium: N Street Village is a member of the Lutheran Planned Giving Consortium, which assists individuals who are interested in supporting our ministries for the homeless and disadvantaged while increasing current and retirement income, saving income taxes, avoiding capital gains taxes, saving estate taxes and accomplishing goals such as paying a child's tuition or providing income for one's heirs.
