  • I have a donation to make. Do you accept used clothing and household items?

Please contact Volunteer and In-Kind Service Associate, Anne Steeves, at (202) 939-2075 or asteeves@nstreetvillage.org to learn if N Street Village has a current need for the items you would like to donate.  We do accept used clothing when we have available storage space.  Oftentimes our greatest needs for clothing are plus sizes.  We do accept smaller household items when needed.  We do not accept large furniture pieces.  Please check our wish list to see our current needs.  Thank you!

We will provide resources and classes that meet your needs to help you reach your goals.  Your first step will be to enroll with us in the EEC. Please call Janaina Stanley at 202.939.2099 to request an application for the WISE program and find out when the next Enrollment Workshop will be held.  After you attend our Enrollment Workshop, we will review your application and meet with you to determine if WISE is the best match and your availability.
  • What kind of shelter and housing programs do you offer?

We offer five residential programs, each with its own eligibility requirements. For all residential programs, an intake with an N Street Village case manager and a recent TB test are required. Each program also has a "Residential Agreement" which must be signed by residents at the time of entry. Learn more about our shelter and housing programs here.
  • How can I get shelter or housing at N Street Village?

If you are interested in applying to move into one of our shelter or housing programs, you must first connect with one of our case managers. The first step in connecting with Case Management is to attend a "Get Acquainted Session." The Get Acquainted Session is a 30-minute meeting in which a client can get to know one of our case managers and learn about programs and services at N Street Village or elsewhere that may help her meet her goals. At the end of the Session, if the client decides she is interested in enrolling in one of our intensive services or housing programs, the case manager will start that process by scheduling a comprehensive intake with the client. At the intake, the case manager collects more detailed information about the client's health, housing, income, and employment history and begins work on developing a case plan with the client.

Get Acquainted Sessions are offered Monday through Friday at Bethany Women's Center. Please arrive no later than 9 a.m. to line up in Bethany Women's Center.  At 9 a.m., staff will sign up the first person in line. The Get Acquainted Session will take place the same day at 10:00 a.m. Please plan on 30 minutes for your meeting.
