N Street Village has a number of special events throughout the year. Corporate partners are welcome to help sponsor and serve on committees to help organize these events.
Annual Gala
The Gala is N Street Village’s largest fundraiser of the year where we honor those who offer hope and empowerment to women in need.
- The Erna and John Steinbruck Award recognizes three N Street Village residents whose leadership, persistence and determination reflect that of Erna and John, co-founders of N Street Village.
- The Founders’ Award pays tribute to friends of N Street Village whose personal and professional efforts provide opportunities for individuals living on the margins of society. Recipients of this award make it possible for N Street Village to continue our work serving homeless and low-income women.
- The Hospitality Award honors the volunteers who provide critical support and quality services to our women and whose volunteer activities live out the founding mission of N Street Village to welcome the stranger and provide hospitality.
The Gala consists of a cocktail reception, dinner and raffle, and benefits the women at N Street Village who are working toward their goals of self-sufficiency.
Annual Luncheon
This event, held at the National Press Club, is a celebration of the strength and courage of women. Past keynote speakers include Dr. Johnnetta Cole, Director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African Art, and A’Lelia Bundles, Emmy-winning producer and executive with ABC News and NBC News.
Fannie Mae Help the Homeless Walkathon
Held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving this is the nation's largest fundraising event for the cause of homelessness. N Street Village is one of more than 100 agencies in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area that benefit, and it is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year.
N Street Village Night Sessions
Night Sessions is N Street Village’s Young Professionals fundraiser. Join us in making the N Street Village Night Sessions a continued success by becoming a sponsor. This is an opportunity to not only support the homeless community but a chance for exposure, networking and cultivation of young professionals and leaders in the D.C. area.
