Meet Barbara, Rene and Joyce. You don’t know them, but you have a lot in common. Just like you, they have families and friends, work hard at their jobs and take pride in their homes. But tough challenges -- a crippling addiction; a chronic health problem; the loss of a job; or the inability to afford soaring housing costs -- led them to N Street Village.
Here, women like Barbara, Rene, and Joyce find the support they need every day to stabilize and improve their mental and physical health, recover from addiction, find employment, and move into stable, affordable housing.
In 2011 N Street Village came to the aid of 60% of the adult, single homeless women in the District of Columbia—through our comprehensive services and housing for homeless and low-income women. We also provided 51 individuals and families with affordable housing at our Eden House apartments.

Personal Giving
N Street Village began in 1972 through the efforts of a few extraordinarily dedicated individuals who volunteered, fundraised, and advocated tirelessly to create a safe and hospitable place for the city's homeless. Over the years, their efforts -- and the contributions of many other supporters -- helped N Street Village grow to provide nearly 900 women each year with comprehensive supportive services and housing programs.
Your donation, regardless of its size, demonstrates your interest in helping N Street Village continue to provide hospitality -- and so much more -- for the women we serve. For example, a $25 donation will provide 20 hot breakfasts at Bethany Women’s Center.
Corporate Partnership
Our corporate partners provide us with the opportunity to extend our reach to more people. In addition to a financial contribution, each of these organizations gets their employees involved in raising awareness about N Street Village’s mission.
In-Kind Donation
N Street Village accepts in-kind donations of goods and supplies to serve our clients. Receiving items through donations continues to keep the N Street Village operating budget as low as possible. N Street Village offers the donated items free of charge to women using our services. All in-kind donations to N Street Village are tax-deductible.
